At Envision Media, we print directly into the woven fibres of the banner, with the capability to produce over 100m2 an hour, and can run 24 hours of the day. From there, we active the ink by putting the banner fabric through our heat press, transforming the ink into extremely vibrant, attention-grabbing colours. Finally, a trip to our precision cutting beds, to shape the banner to your exact specifications and measurements, where the blackback fabric is then either packaged, or a further step in finishing takes places such as adding eyelets, creating pockets for hanging pole systems or sewing silicone edge onto the banner.

Our Environmental Policy Envision Media

The Environmental Benefit Of Blackback

As one of the fabrics we use the most, we are aware of the impact the material has on the environment. Which is why we ensure that our product is fire rated to B1 certification for indoor use, along with the fabric being made of knitted fabrics of polyester, and because of these fibres, the entire banner can be 100% recycled, and remove any impact on the environment you produce. Mixed together with dye-sublimation printing, a water-based printing method which uses eco-inks, the impact your banners has is miniscule, in comparison to older traditional methods of printing.

Our Artwork Requirements For Blackback Fabrics

For any black-back polyester printing that is going into framework such as Tension Fabric Systems, we require 20mm bleed around the entire artwork, along with no crop mores or colour bars and centre marks, this is to ensure that we can get the artwork proofed and printed as soon as possible. For any banners that could be installed differently such as stapled to hoarding, or eyelets, we would require a different amount of bleed, and would discuss that in the quote stage.

Important Information About Blackback Fabrics

Depending on the size of your banner, we may choose to keep your print on a roll for ease of transportation and installation, however blackback fabric is able to be folded up without damaging the artwork. Blackback fabric is also machine washable, meaning that if your banner is in situ where it is likely to generate dirt, you can simply clean it off!

When we are sewing silicone edge onto our banners for tension fabric systems, we use black or white thread as standard. If additional colours are requested, we are able to source additional colours, and will attempt to colour match as closely as possible.

Our printer is capable of printing 3.2 metres (10ft 6in) wide and over 100 metres in length in one fabric piece, where banner sizes are required at a larger size, we have the ability to create a weld that can continue your artwork at a larger size.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is a fabric that is commonly used across a wide array of locations and events, from exhibitions to retail and signage, the fabric has one printable side, and another that is designed to stop light passing through, allowing for front-lit lighting to make the graphic and print stand out more.

With the ability to have one side block out coating, blackback is ideal for any form of silicone edge display systems, and especially for areas that will use front lit lighting and need to enhance your graphics.

When adding the graphic into a tension fabric system, the material is able to generate a stretch within the fabric, which is why the finish is an extremely smooth, drum-like appearance. We recommend people start by ensuring all 4 corners of the fabric is in to ensure the stretch look is achieved. For other systems such as eyelets, things such as clips and zip ties are a popular choice.
